Day Seven Recap, Day Eight Preview of 2017 Finals

Well, it was a rained-out day on day seven of the national finals. UC San Diego and St. Thomas Aquinas were only a couple batters in before severe weather came along and wiped out the rest of play for Friday. Today, those two teams get back on the field to determine who makes the national championship series.

First, our day seven recap of the 2017 NCAA Division II Baseball National Finals, which...well...wasn't much.

Three batters came to the plate for UCSD to begin the game, and then the weather rolled in. We will continue the game on Saturday at 8 p.m. Eastern, with the Tritons having players on second and third with one out. Jack Larsen led off the game with a walk, and Brandon Shirley tallied a single, and then a passed ball advanced both runners to scoring position with nobody out. The game was delayed just after a strikeout for the first out of the game.
