Without a doubt the top series in Division II baseball this weekend, the Lancers are looking to stay near the top of the hyper-competitive West region, while the Mavericks are looking to dominate the South Central for yet another season. Both these teams should be in the top half of their respective regional tournaments, and might even be top seeds if things shake out the way they have already been going. It is going to be a series of stellar hitting for Mesa against stalwart pitching for Cal Baptist, and we will see who comes out on top. After one game in the series, the Mavs hold the advantage, with a 9-1 victory in Thursday's series opener.
